It is a re-enactment of a historical military parade, at St. Elmo in Valletta. This parade portrays the routine inspection of the fort by the Grand Bailiff of the Order of the Knights of St. John in charge of military affairs. During the re-enactment the fort's garrison is dressed in its best uniforms and demonstrates its military prowess in combat by the use of pikes, swords, and muskets, as well as firing mortars and cannons. All this takes place inside the Fort's original Place d'Armes. The parade lasts for about 45 minutes.
